Helideck Pavilion at Harrods
Helideck Pavilion at Harrods

- Location: London
- Role: Architect, Project Manager, Contract administrator, Quantity Surveyor
High above Knightsbridge, the Helideck Pavilion crowns the iconic Harrods building, offering panoramic views of London. Kendall Kingscott’s vision was to create an extraordinary rooftop experience—an elegant, temporary structure that could host exclusive events while respecting the heritage of a Grade II listed landmark.
The pavilion’s modular design allows it to be fully demounted and relocated, setting a new benchmark for adaptable architecture. Alongside the main space, an existing rooftop structure was reimagined as luxurious washrooms, blending modern comfort with historic craftsmanship.
Natural materials complement Harrods’ terracotta façade, with glulam beams and bronze-finished columns framing curated views of the city. Inside, timber accents, mirrored surfaces, and a soft stretched ceiling evoke warmth and lightness, while concealed engineering ensures year-round comfort and flawless hospitality.
Constructing the pavilion was a logistical feat. With no cranes and no disruption to trading, every component was transported through existing delivery routes and hoisted to the eighth floor. Working with AirClad, the team developed a modular system that met strict constraints without compromising design.
Delivered in just five months, the Helideck Pavilion is a celebration of collaboration and ingenuity—honouring heritage while achieving technical excellence and creating a truly unique destination in the heart of London.
