Cleaning Up Southmead Adventure Playground
Cleaning Up Southmead Adventure Playground
Some KK employees took time out of work recently to help tidy up an adventure playground close to our Bristol office. Known as the Ranch, the playground contains a huge range of timber structures for climbing, running and swinging from, and provides free play sessions for local children.
Our nine volunteers, in two teams, were tasked with clearing the remains of collapsed wooden play apparatus from a woodland area and putting it all in a skip, and litter-picking and strimming vegetation from paths around the site.
The Ranch is managed by the Southmead Development Trust, a charity that provides a range of community services and acts as a hub for schools and charities, which use the facilities for a range of social and educational sessions. The site also has a football court, indoor spaces, including soft play and art rooms, a forest school and wild area.
Volunteering for the trust builds on previous KK projects there, which include provision of interior design services to its Greenrooms building to create a versatile, accessible venue for community use.
Well done and thank you to all the volunteers who took part and arranged the sessions with the Trust.
