KK Community Planter Project
The Exeter team recently completed their summer KK Community Project, working with local charity Exeter Wellbeing to enhance the shopfront area on Beacon Lane.
Following a site visit and survey of the area, the team designed and installed five community planters to help brighten the space and create an attractive environment for visitors and the local community.
The project was delivered in three stages: designing, building and planting. Working together, the team:
- Produced a design and located the planters on a measured site plan.
- Ordered and collected materials.
- Constructed the planters in flat-pack sections at the office.
- Transported materials to site.
- Built the planters in situ.
- Cleared and de-weeded the perimeter area.
- Filled the planters with soil and compost.
- Planted a mix of wildflowers, spring bulbs, hardy shrubs and winter pansies chosen to help attract wildlife.
The project was funded using Exeter's social value allocation, along with some generous donations from people within the office and a local scaffolding company
A great example of colleagues working together to support a local community project and make a positive difference to the area.
