Hazelwick School - Sixth Form Extension and Refurbishment

Earlier this year we completed the Sixth Form Extension and Refurbishment at Hazelwick School in Crawley, providing services as Lead Consultant, Architect, Principal Designer, Quantity Surveyor and M&E.

Working within a live and highly constrained school environment, the project transformed an ageing sixth form facility into a modern, flexible space that supports studying, dining and social interaction. 

The scheme combined a carefully positioned extension with a full refurbishment of the existing building, overcoming challenges including limited site access, existing drainage constraints, outdated building fabric and the need to minimise disruption to school operations throughout construction. 

The result is a significantly enhanced learning environment, with increased internal space, improved building performance, upgraded services and a more welcoming, adaptable setting for students.
