KK Circle Hospital Blackheath 66

Blackheath Hospital - Remodelling and Extension

Project details
  • Client: Circle Health Group (formerly BMI Healthcare)
  • Location: London
  • Role: Architect, Project Manager, Principal Designer and Quantity Surveyor

We are proud to have a long-standing relationship with Circle Health Group (formally BMI Healthcare), having worked with their teams for the last 15 years at over 40 sites.

On this appointment, we provided our inter-disciplinary team of Architecture, Project Management, Principal Designer and Quantity Surveying services while liaising closely with many specialist consultants required for the considerable refurbishment works.

This complex project has involved the internal remodelling and refurbishment of the existing Blackheath building to accommodate a new outpatient department, relocated from its previous home in Winchester House. The new department comprises consultant rooms, specialist ophthalmology and audiology consultant rooms, provision of an ultrasound and mammography imaging suite, a treatment and minor operations room and a new reception. A new waiting room was created by infilling the existing courtyard to form an extension to the reception.

Works included refurbishing the Watts Building on the same site to relocate the physiotherapy department and providing a new gymnasium, reception area, consulting rooms and offices.

We fostered a strong relationship with the hospital management team to progress the works while the hospital was occupied, minimising disruption to regular operations wherever possible.
